Directions to High Chaparral

The directions below may be used by both commercial and private vehicles.  Commercial traffic is generally prohibited on the Blue Ridge Parkway, but is permitted for the 0.1 mile section in these directions.

Please note that most if not all mapping and vehicle navigation software incorrectly shows entrances at the western border of the neighborhood directly from Fancy Gap Highway (US 52).  Those entrances do not exist.  Access to the neighborhood is from the east via Elk Spur Road (VA 614) to Apache Trail.

Begin at the intersection of US 52 and Ranger Road (VA 608), just north of the Blue Ridge Parkway (BRP).  Go east on Ranger Road to the BRP.  Turn left (east/north) on the BRP and go 0.1 mile.  Turn right at marker 199 onto Lightning Ridge Road (VA 608) and go 0.5 miles.  Turn right on Elk Spur Road (VA 614) and go 0.9 miles.  Turn right on Apache Trail and climb the hill to enter High Chaparral.
