GIS Viewer and Property Tax Information
The link below can be used to access county property public records using the Carroll County Online Global Information System (GIS) Viewer. Among the data available are owner, address, assessed value, last sale date, and last sale price. Only the "SEARCH BY PROPERTY" (default tab) can be used to search for High Chaparral property, because the private street names (Apache, Shawnee, Powhatan, etc.) are not in the "SEARCH BY LOCATION" database.
Example search: Be sure the "SEARCH BY LOCATION" tab is selected. Suppose we wish to view tax information on all homes on Powhatan Trail in High Chaparral. We select POWHATAN TRL from the "Street Name" dropdown box, then click on the "Search" button at the bottom of the page. The search results appear on the right side of the page. Click on a line to view detailed information about a particular property. In the example, WILLIAM N SMYER is shown as the property owner of the home at 154 Powhatan Trail. Suppose we wish to see if he owns any other property in the county. Do so by starting a new search and entering only the name smyer in the Owner Name box. The result shows that he owns or co-owns three adjacent lots on Powhatan Trail, 128C-2-5-44, 45 and 46.
